MKIECC Environmental sustainability

Sustainability is one of our five foundational beliefs. We strive to implement the most efficient and environmentally friendly solutions available while protecting our people and reducing the impact of our activities at all times.

We are committed to minimizing our impact on the environment and the planet. We lead several ongoing initiatives to reduce our own environmental footprint through minimizing our carbon emissions, and by optimizing waste and natural resource management.

Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) is an environmentally friendly, efficient and economical alternative to onshore infrastructure, and is an area in which MKIECC is a leader.

MKIEC C Security and Incident management

Protecting our people, anywhere and at anytime

Ensuring the security of our people and physical assets is challenging, but vital. We are resolute in our determination to protect all MKEICC employees, clients and business partners at our work sites and during transit.

We operate to the highest standards of vigilance, embedding security in our daily operations to every level – local, regional and corporate. We continuously monitor the environments in which we work, assess potential threats and risks and apply appropriate countermeasures in line with applicable laws.

Security and incident management

MKEICC employees operated in several countries and can be confronted with a security or crisis event.

In order to deal with these incidents, we apply a three-stage management system that is designed to contain the incident and prevent it from escalating. Our incident and crisis management organization has a network of trained responders across the company.

Our training program includes regular simulation exercises to ensure that we have the relevant capability to respond to any type of security and incident-based event.

Our HSE performance is enduring, industry leading and world-class.

In FY19, we continued to demonstrate safety excellence with another year of zero employee fatalities at work, and a total recordable incident rate of 0.20, compared to the North American Industry Classification System’s most recently reported aggregate rate of 0.70.

During the year, the Environmental Business International (EBI) recognized Jacobs’ Mental Health Matters program for Social Contribution Merit and we also received a Silver Award in the Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index, recognizing our progress and commitment to the mental wellness of our employees. These are two of many awards that Jacobs has received relating to our mental health matters program, which continues to develop a more inclusive environment where people feel safe, healthy and supported.

As part of our Mental Health Matters program, we introduced Positive Mental Health Champions, training our employees in how to guide staff who have mental health concerns or crises, to the appropriate level of help; support fellow employees; and encourage positive mental health throughout the workplace using the Five Ways to Wellbeing:

1. Take Notice: Be Catch sight of the beautiful. Remark on the unusual.
2. Give: Do something nice for a friend, or a Thank someone. Smile.
3. Be Active: Go for a walk or Step outside. Cycle. Play a game. Dance.
